Meta acquires Conductor, a tool for running several AI coding agents in parallel
On 4 November 2026 Meta acquired the startup Conductor, whose app runs several coding agents at once. The team joins Meta Superintelligence Labs; the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Meta has acquired the startup Conductor. According to reports, Axios broke the news first and Conductor confirmed it on its own website. CEO Charlie Holtz and CTO Jackson de Campos are moving with the team to Meta Superintelligence Labs. The sources do not give a price or other terms.
Conductor is an app in which a developer runs several coding agents in parallel, each in an isolated copy of the codebase. The developer then reviews and merges what they produce. It supports tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. The idea is simple: instead of one assistant typing alongside the developer, several agents work on different tasks at once and the human becomes the approver.
The deal fits a wider move. Meta launched its own coding agent, Muse Code, in August, and the purchase brings in an experienced team in managing multiple agents. Reports also say part of the service is being wound down: the cloud version of Conductor is set to shut down in the coming weeks. Exact dates differ between sources, so users should follow the notice on Conductor's own site.
There is one more angle for companies. Czech media are currently writing about the other side of it: programmers can no longer keep up with checking what AI writes. Parallel agents make this worse, because they produce more code than a person can review.
What it means for companies
If your team uses AI for programming, do not start by counting agents; start with review rules. Every change should pass tests and human review before it reaches production. The same principle applies to custom AI agents in company operations, where a person decides on any step with consequences. In app development we use AI to speed up work, but responsibility for the result stays with people. See also guardrails for AI agents.
