How much does a website cost in Prague? (2026 prices)
Freelancer, studio or agency? Template or custom? Here is what websites actually cost in Prague in 2026, in numbers nobody publishes.
Ask five Prague agencies what a website costs and you’ll get five versions of “it depends, let’s have a call”. It does depend, but the ranges are perfectly knowable. Here they are, from someone who publishes their own price list.
The short answer
| What you’re buying | Realistic Prague price (2026) |
|---|---|
| Template site from a freelancer | CZK 10,000 – 25,000 |
| Custom presentation site, small studio | CZK 25,000 – 60,000 |
| Custom site, established agency | CZK 60,000 – 150,000 |
| E-shop (Shoptet-based) | CZK 20,000 – 60,000 + monthly fees |
| E-shop (custom) | CZK 60,000 – 200,000 |
| Web application / portal | CZK 150,000 and up |
Prices without VAT. The spread inside each row comes from the factors below.
What actually moves the price
Unique page designs, not page count. Ten pages using three layouts cost barely more than three pages. A quote that charges per page is a red flag.
Languages. A second language done properly is copywriting, not Google Translate. Expect 15–25% on top per language. If a quote adds a language for free, you now know how they’ll produce it.
Content readiness. Arriving with finished texts and photos can cut 20% off. Arriving with “we’ll figure out the texts” adds weeks and money. Writing is the part clients underestimate most.
Features. Reservations, member areas, filtering, payment gateways: each is honest custom work. This is where CZK 40,000 quietly becomes CZK 90,000, so insist on itemised pricing.
Who you’re paying. A freelancer is cheapest until they disappear; a large agency bills for account managers you’ll never meet. Small senior studios sit in between: you pay for the person actually doing the work.
The costs nobody mentions in the quote
- Hosting: CZK 100–500/month for a normal site. Beware “free hosting included”, because you’re usually being locked in.
- Maintenance: a WordPress site realistically needs CZK 500–2,000/month of updates and patches to stay secure. A static site needs approximately zero, which is why we build the way we do.
- Licences: page-builder and plugin subscriptions, CZK 2,000–10,000/year on many template builds. Ask what stops working if you cancel them.
- The rebuild: the cheapest site is often bought twice. A CZK 15,000 site that has to be redone in 18 months cost you CZK 15,000 plus the customers it lost meanwhile.
How to read a Prague web design quote
- Is the price fixed and written, or an “estimate”?
- Is copywriting included, per language?
- Is technical SEO (speed, structured data, sitemap, hreflang) in scope, with a measurable target?
- What are the monthly costs in year two?
- Who owns the site, domain and hosting accounts? (The answer must be: you.)
